PROGRAM NOTES

Glimpse of Colossus evokes colossal glaciers where vivid blue and striking white collide in vast, windswept planes punctuated by steep breaks and deep crevasses. Heroic leaps, angular fragments, and open harmonies permeate Glimpse of Colossus, suggesting these characteristics. Bright trumpet calls and accented chords contrast with quieter, more lyrical moments of calm. A concise fanfare, Glimpse of Colossus culminates in a triumphant conclusion celebrating spectacular natural wonders in honor of the career of Professor Alan Siebert.
